Resort Venetië is a versatile waterfront recreation business in Giethoorn. Holiday accommodation, day recreation, boat rental, hospitality, parking and guest services all come together in one location.

As part of the further development of this location, we would like to connect with an enterprising individual, an entrepreneurial couple or a recreation company interested in independently operating and developing activities, with the possibility of acquiring part or all of the business in the future.

This is expressly not a regular salaried position. We are looking for an entrepreneur who is willing to take responsibility, make independent decisions and work together with us towards a sustainable future for the location.

What opportunities are available?

Depending on the entrepreneur’s background, experience and financial resources, various forms of partnership can be considered.

Possible opportunities include:

• independent operation of the daytime hospitality facilities and waterfront terrace;
• operation or further development of the boat rental activities;
• management and operation of the car park;
• guest reception and additional recreational rental activities;
• a combination of several activities;
• phased participation in or acquisition of individual business activities;
• a broader or complete acquisition of the business in the longer term.

The exact arrangement has not been predetermined. The most important factors are a strong personal and professional fit, a realistic business plan and clear agreements regarding responsibilities, investments and future opportunities.

The location

Resort Venetië is situated in a strong tourist location in Giethoorn and offers a range of existing facilities for recreation and guest services.

The location includes:

• a hospitality area with a waterfront terrace;
• existing facilities for electric boat rental;
• mooring, charging and supporting facilities;
• a spacious private car park;
• a direct connection to the adjacent chalet park;
• opportunities for additional recreational activities.

This makes it possible to combine hospitality, boating, parking, guest reception and recreational rental activities. The location offers opportunities for a hands-on entrepreneur who wants to continue the existing activities while also developing new opportunities.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an entrepreneur who:

• is hospitable and commercially minded;
• takes a hands-on approach and accepts responsibility;
• recognises opportunities within recreation, tourism, hospitality and water-based recreation;
• treats the location, its guests and the surrounding area with care;
• is willing to invest their own time, energy and entrepreneurial drive;
• has a realistic financial basis;
• is interested in a long-term partnership.

Experience in hospitality, recreation, tourism or water sports is an advantage. However, entrepreneurship, reliability and the right attitude are equally important.
